Finally a success - the city of Sochi formed a shelter for homeless animals!

Dear Animal lovers, Animal Activists and All Animal Welfare Organizations,

Your appeal reviewed by the experts state administration of
Veterinary of Krasnodar region on behalf of the Presidential Administration
of The Russian Federation.

 

At this moment, the city of Sochi formed a shelter for homeless animals.

 

By the order of the administration's head of Hostinsky District from 16 January 2014,
№ 7-Р "About the provision for the Krasnodar regional charity organizations of persons with disabilities "Dobromyr" ("Добромир") of a land for the placement of The Theme Park, in the area of the Armenian street of Hostinsky district the of city of Sochi (в районе улицы Армянской в Хостинском районе города Сочи)" overlooking permitted use of "The Theme Park with a shelter for homeless animals", allocated a territory of 48 000 m².

 

According to the available information from the Veterinary Administration of the Krasnodar region, the specified territory containes 158 animals,
who are fed and are taking care of by the three organizations:
Krasnodar regional charitable public organization of invalids "Goodworld"
("Dobromir" or "Добромир"), SGBOO "Center for Animal Welfare"(СГБОО «Центр защиты животных») and fund "Freestyle business" (фонд «Вольное дело»).

 

The animals are kept in enclosures, each animal has a booth (doghouse).
At the present time, works are being done to install awnings over all the enclosures
and medical curative care is also in progress of being provided.

 

In the Krasnodar region, relations in sphere of the content and protection of pets is regulated by the law of the Krasnodar region
from December 2, 2004 № 800-CP "About the content and the protection of home animals in Krasnodar region", under Article 10 of the Law (hereinafter - the Law).

IMPORTANT TO KNOW:
Sadly enough, according to the provided information, the situation of the homeless animals is mostly worsened through the fault of their owners behaving irresponsibly and immorally with their pets,
simply by letting them out on the streets alone, without an indication of the ownership, such as a chip for dog or a cat implanted under their skin and a collar with a name of the pet and address or phone number of the owner.

 

Letting pets "to walk" alone on the streets is currently highly not recommended and very dangerous. They are often getting lost and by trying to find their way home get themselves in trouble.
There are still a lot of people in the world, who don't like to see those pets walking alone on the streets, they make private organizations take very cruel preventive methods such as, for example, throwing poisoned meat on the path of those animals.

So, if you are an owner of a dog or a cat, please, keep the cat inside of your house or a garden and walk with the dog on a leash  - for your peace of mind, and their safety..

 

Though, I haven't checked it myself, if the animal this shelter really exists at specified location - I would dare to believe that it's true!
